Co-Curricular Activities (CCA)
The CCA programme aims to:
1. Develop basic games skill competencies.
2. To foster and develop qualities of self-discipline, team spirit, leadership and group loyalty.
3. Inculcate correct values and positive social attitudes.
4. Help pupils to develop healthy pursuits and cultivate proper use of leisure for a healthy lifestyle.
Gongshang Primary School strongly encourages all pupils from P3 upwards to have a CCA so as to experience a more holistic school experience. Besides discovering new talents and abilities, CCA also provides hands-on experience on time management techniques, relief of stress and building strong bodies for a healthier and more alert mind.
We provide a wide range of activities to cater to the varied needs and interests of our pupils despite the constraints of space and limited facilities. The activities can be broadly categorized into 4 groups, namely: Sports and Games, Performing Arts Groups, Uniformed Group and Clubs and Services.

* Niche sport
Gongshang's niche is in Track and Field which has consistently been ranked among the top 4 schools at the national schools championship over the past 2 decades. The school was awarded the Programme for School-based Excellence grant since 2006 to bring it to greater heights. Teachers and deserving athletes had been selected for sports immersion tours to Australia and South East Asia since 2006 to learn and experience the sporting culture of these countries.
Our Performing Arts Groups have consistently done well at the Singapore Youth Festival Central Judging competitions. The groups had performed at school events and had also been invited to perform at many public and community events, notably at Our Tampines Hub.
The Cub Scouts have continued the rigour of maintaining the standards set by the volunteer adult leaders, winning the Frank Cooper Sands Award since 2006 and clinching several Akela Awards.
The clubs cater to those who are more inclined towards creativity and analytical thinking. The Environmental Science Club is an interdisciplinary approach that looks into the sciences and of interactions of the physical components on the environment. SCOOP! and SOAR provide the platforms to develop pupils’ communication and creative writing skills through the various language media and approaches.
Such a comprehensive range of activities will definitely bring the best out of your child and we sincerely believe CCA will provide the best platform to groom your child into a more confident and self-assured individual, ready to face the challenges ahead.
