Science Workshop for Parents 2015

The Science Department conducted a workshop for the parents of pupils from Primary 3 – 6 on Saturday, 11 April 2015. Two concurrent sessions, together with the Mathematics Department, were held with the objective of equipping the parents with the skills and knowledge to guide and coach their children in their learning of Science. The workshop was attended by about 120 parents.

The participants had a very fruitful and engaging session with the teacher presenters led by the Level Head for Science, Mrs Loy-Chow Yoke Yeong. We addressed the concerns of the parents as they shared  the challenges they face in guiding their children in Science. We shared with them the strategies for answering Science questions, offering useful tips and providing insights into how Science questions are marked. We drew their attention to the common mistakes made by the pupils and cited examples of scientific and non-scientific answers. The parents were led to understand the importance of linking and applying Science concepts to the questions.

We would like to wish all parents many rich learning experiences with their children in their Science journeys together.
